DIY WOOD SLAB CANDLE HOLDERS

Vintage KC Magazine challenged me and some other local Kansas City creatives to create something from a simple wood slab (the end results are featured in the latest issue of the magazine.

I had been wanting to create some simple wood slab candle holders for quite some time, so my idea came to me pretty quickly. I had no idea it would be as quick and easy as it was.

You will need:

1. Round wood slab

2. Tea light candles

3. A drill with 1.5" a spade bit (the bit was only around $5 from Home Depot, fyi)

I grabbed the only three items I would need for the project (+ my husband, Ted) and got to work (I mostly supervised).

To get started Ted secured the wood slab between his feet* and drilled five evenly spaced holes into the slab. Five minutes later we had a finished product.

* We don't recommend the "between your feet method" while drilling. We suggest using vices if you have them. We were just lazy. :)

This candle holder would work wonderfully as a centerpiece for a diy/rustic wedding or your fall table decor...and not to mention it is super inexpensive!
