A couple of weeks ago I spotted an unused table with a lot of interesting detail in a corner at my office building. I envisioned it with a fresh coat of paint and fitting perfectly in our entry way, so I asked if I could have it...and out I walked with my new project.
Well today I finally dug into said project...in a major lazy (no sanding) way.
Here is the entry way before:
And here is the new table before:
I rubbed on some liquid sander and within 10 minutes I was able to apply my first coat of paint.
I originally planned on using a glossy spray paint, but after the first coat I could tell that it wasn't going to work as well as I wanted it to. I wanted a clean, less shabby look.
So I found some very similar colored paint (Behr Tide Pools) that I had on hand (from the DIY nursery project) and painted on two quick coats.
Easy as that my table was complete. The new bright color adds more character and personality to our entry way (I think I will add one more gold accent to the table decor soon and then it will feel complete to me).
I am in love with aqua and gold, so of course I had to spray paint the existing black mirror a shiny gold and bring in the gold accented vase and flowers.
And now I can pretty much cross another project off of my to do list. :)
Anyone else doing any DIY house projects this weekend?
it's so gorgeous! You did a great job :)
