DIY ADVENTURE THEMED FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY

A few months ago I started the planning process for Vivi's adventure themed first birthday party. It all started with this DIY teepee project and just went from there. I had a blast with all of the fun little details and of course all of the DIY projects.

I am really happy how it all came together, and most importantly Vivi really enjoyed her party. I need a long nap to recover.  :)

Here are all of the details:

Since I was centering the whole theme around the teepee, I put it in the middle of the living room/kitchen area.

I created a candy bar area on an existing side table (removing our existing art) and set up some leaning (spray painted) gold canvases, printables and DIY decor to add interest. You can find most of the free printables by clicking here.

Close-ups of the candy bar area...I purchased the candy from amazon pretty inexpensively.
The cupcake table surrounded by a crepe paper teepee and some DIY tissue paper pom pons from a shower I threw awhile back.

I designed, printed and cut the cupcake topper art to match the other print materials and the cupcake stand is from our DIY wedding. The cupcakes (teepee cookies and smash cake) were all made by my amazingly awesome neighbors, the Krumms. They were perfect!

The birthday throne was decorated with extra tassels left over from our DIY post mod nursery project.

You can learn how to make them yourself by clicking here.

Moving on to the food...

I had extra fabric left over from the teepee project, so I used it for the table runners on the candy bar and island. It helped tie the colors and theme all together.

My dad cut four thick wood slices for me and I painted them bright cheery colors to match the theme. I made two of them into cake stands (like I had done on some past cake stand projects) and left two alone.

Note: I didn't get a shot of the complete food setup because I was waiting on the bruschetta to come out of the oven. Thankfully my mom caught a before shot of it. :)

The adorable teepee cookies! They were almost too cute to eat, almost.

Red pesto and goat cheese bruschetta (that I completely forgot in the oven and almost burned).

Water bottles with party themed labels...

Of course we had to have mason jars for the pink lemonade and strawberry-basil vodka lemonades.

The adorable smash cake with the HOORAY sticks from oh joy! for Target...

I went little oh joy crazy incase you don't notice (silver wear, party hats, party blowers, outside banner-not pictured, ice bucket and goblets).

My local Target was running clearance on all items a month ago, and I snatched up all that was left on the super cheap - score!

Moving on to the rest of the decor...

I designed most of the print materials and printed them on heavy card stock on my color printer at home.

I love the way the previous 11 months of photos as garland turned out.

Welcome sign, favor bags and a DIY (dowel rod) arrow (the other 3 arrows are above the candy bar)...

And finally here is the happy birthday girl daintily eating her cake. :)

And sharing some with daddy...
A few other shots...

Enjoying snacks in the teepee.

Our favorite gold moccasins from The Coral Pear

Reading a good book before the party got started.

I made her "head dress" from a couple of feathers (left over from the teepee) and some Target dollar bin gold ribbon using hot glue and velcro. She tolerated it for a little bit. :)

We all had a great time celebrating one year of Vivienne!

Thanks for stopping by.
xoxo
