I'm back with one last DIY project from my $100 DIY office update!
As I mentioned before, I got most of my new items at a thrift store, and with a little spray paint, made them much better. I love thrift stores!
Today I'm showing you how easily I transformed a couple of dated (circa 1985) cheapie thrift store frames using spray paint and some of my free printables. Easy peasy!
Gather your spray paint and printables and start taking your frame apart.
The original octagonal mat was a yellowish cream, but the reverse side was white, so I just flipped it. White always makes everything look newer and more fresh. You can always lightly spray paint your photo mat for more customization.
I liked the gold color of the frame, but it was a little beat up, so I spray painted it with a matching matte gold paint to freshen it up a bit. Finally, I cleaned the glass, trimmed my prints to fit, and put the frame back together.
I love the fun, octagonal shape of these frames!
What thrift store items have you updated recently? I love seeing the before and afters, so feel free to share them with me in Instagram! :)

I paint my frames too but sometimes use Washi tape. Love that stuff! ~Heather
ReplyDeleteI love wash tape too - I'll have to try it on some frames. Thanks! :)
