DIY BULLETIN BOARD + A FUN FREEBIE

I designed a fun printable for you today. I hope it motivates you like it does me (sometimes I need an extra little push to keep on trucking).

It even ties into the DIY project that I'm going to show you too...bonus!

Now onto the DIY...

Last weekend I went on an unplanned and very quick little DIY project frenzy, and it was kinda awesome.

Ted and I both decided to clean the guest rooms to prepare for our family, who will be visiting for Thanksgiving.

One guest room (also doubling as his "man room") had been a little ignored lately. He got the room back to working order and the sheets washed.

I did the same with the other guest room (which used to double as my craft storage room, but now is mostly just ignored - I mean look at this atrocious closet), haha. Yeah...

I already regret showing this pic, but just being real. Anyone want to buy a nice Konica Minolta color duplex printer? :)

I digress.

We've put off updating these two rooms of our house because we haven't had the time. They don't need much...painted trim in both, fresh paint and a new light fixture "my guest room," (which I already have....see one of my early blog posts here, teehee).

The two guest rooms share a jack and jill bathroom, which also needs a DIY facelift.

Aaaanyway....as I was cleaning I was also doing lots of random projects left and right (Vivi was a great helper).

Made and hung a no sew (modern) curtain valance using some extra fabric

Spray painted a lamp base

Spray painted a stool/side table

Styled book shelves

Hung some printables on the walls

Moved and rearranged furniture

Made an easy framed bulletin board/wall art

...And finally that leads me to showing you this super easy DIY bulletin board project.

I found a large frame and cardboard backer in my basement.

And spray painted it gold.

I took some extra fabric that I had left over from Vivi's DIY teepee project, and used it to easily wrap the cardboard backer like a present. I wrapped the cardboard with the fabric, and super crazily taped it on the back. I mean, wow. I'm sorta embarrassed to show you the back, ha.

I didn't want to cut the fabric incase I wanted to use it on something else down the road. In my past life I was a great depression baby or something. :)

I like to get shit done quickly, and if it doesn't show, it is most likely ghett-ooo. :)

Here's the pretty side.

It could work as wall art by itself.

If you want to use it as a bulletin board, the cardboard backer makes the perfect tack cushion.

I'll show you more of this guest room when it's a little more styled and put together, m'kay?!

xoxo

  1. I think random DIY frenzies are the best. You just go where the wind blows! That bulletin board re-do is so fun and I love the free printable. I think silly and fun phrases are my favorite things to design and write. Thanks for joining my link up :)
