It's a pretty popular trend, and being mixed into gallery walls all over the bloggersphere similar to this:

I've been on the hunt for a smaller, affordable ceramic (or paper mache) deer head for awhile now, with no luck. Has anyone found an affordable option out there? If so please let me know where! :)
I've been eyeing this one from Z Gallery, and a few from WFT but not sure I want to spend $50 - 100. I guess I'm just a cheap ass?
For my birthday last month, my sister-in-law gave me a gift certificate to Uncommon Goods, where I found a cool cardboard cut out deer head.
It was reasonably priced and came in a flat kit (assembling took about 5 minutes). Once assembled, I spray painted it a brushed gold (of course), and easy as that my deer head was complete.
Virgil has found a cozy home on my only bare home office wall. And is fulfilling my faux taxidermy fix until I discover an amazing one out there for $25 or less. :)
